She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and offers over eight years of experience in helping individuals, couples, and families to manage difficult life experiences. Abigail’s personal journey toward mental health and well-being for herself inspired her passion and dedication to help others on their own unique journeys. She enjoys working to ignite hope with her clients and helping to empower them to become more resilient in all areas of life. She specializes in working with and supporting children, youth, adults, couples, and families who are experiencing anxiety, depression, loneliness, anger, social and relational issues, broken relationships, and issues related to body image, identity, abuse, trauma, and self-esteem.
Abigail’s approach to therapy is eclectic and carefully tailored to meeting each client’s specific individual needs. She uses a person-centred and strength-based approach along with a trauma-informed lens to help create a safe and respectful space for each client and to build a strong and effective therapeutic relationship. Abigail’s training and practice includes a wide range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Self-Compassion, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy.
Abigail also understands how difficult it can be to find a counsellor or therapist who feels just right for you because she was once in your shoes. As a result of going through a difficult time in her life, Abigail decided to seek counselling for her mental well-being. Seeking therapy was one of the greatest investments that Abigail made in herself. Her useful first-time experience with therapy highlighted the importance and positive impact of therapy, including the positive benefits of having a strong therapeutic relationship with a genuine and compassionate counsellor and a welcoming and non-judgemental space to freely express oneself. These qualities of compassion and genuineness were the qualities that Abigail sought and appreciated in her therapist and these are also the valuable qualities that she brings to her own practice and work with clients. As a result, Abigail is always delighted to offer a free 15 minute consultation by phone or in-person to discuss your needs. She welcomes any and all questions and looks forward to hearing from new clients.
Abigail also has a passion for food and dining and agrees that good food is fuel for the soul as well as the body. For this reason, she can often be found visiting places and events where she can enjoy good food.
