Fola is a caring, dedicated Masters Level registered Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist who works to help people navigate difficulties, build strengths and coping strategies, and emerge from life struggles stronger, wiser, and more resilient than before.  With over ten years of experience with a wide range of clients, life challenges, and settings (including schools, the child welfare system, social service agencies, hospitals, mental health organizations, and various provincial ministries), Fola brings valuable knowledge, experience, skill, respect and cultural sensitivity to her work with each client.  

During life’s journey, each of us faces many challenges.  Fola believes that all people have the capacity to take charge of their destiny and transform their lives and I enjoy helping people in this process.  Her goal is to help you find your own unique ways to manage and overcome difficulties, build greater hope, resilience, perseverance and mental fortitude, and even become stronger as a result of your struggles.  Her passion and professional specialty is working with youth, families and individuals to support positive mental health, overall well-being and success, and effective strategies for coping with challenges and transitions.  

As the founder and lead therapist at Become Resilient Individuals (BRI) Counselling Services, Fola leads her team in its mission to ignite hope, build strengths and empower people to become more resilient in all aspects of life. By working collaboratively and respectfully with each client, Fola creates a warm, safe, and welcoming space where your voice can be heard, your challenges overcome, and your life transformed.  In her practice, she utilizes a flexible range of approaches tailored to each client’s situation, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and more.
