Meagan is a Master’s level social worker with over 8 years of valuable experience who is passionate about supporting each individual on their unique journey toward healing and recovery. Meagan has a humble and down-to-earth approach and emphasizes mutual respect, cultural sensitivity, and personal empowerment in her work with clients.
Meagan’s professional specialty is providing mental health services to adults and seniors, as well as to youth from early childhood through adolescence and early adulthood. Meagan is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and her practice is deeply grounded in supporting clients through anti-oppression, anti-racism, and anti-stigma principles.
Meagan’s mission as a counsellor is to inspire hope, build on your strengths, help you to achieve your therapy goals, and equip you with tools and skills to foster greater resilience. Meagan takes a collaborative approach to sessions and includes your valuable thoughts and input each step of the way in creating a therapeutic plan with you.
Meagan’s therapeutic modalities include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. She specializes in helping clients with the following issues: low mood, depression, anxiety, self-esteem concerns and general stress.
Meagan’s passion for counselling began at a young age when she witnessed how therapy supported members of her own family in their mental wellness journeys. She began her career as a counsellor and social worker by first earning a Bachelor of Social Work and then a Master of Social Work to enhance her skills and convert her passion for supporting others into a fulfilling career. Beyond her counselling practice, Meagan enjoys fitness and health, cooking, and teaching online ESL to beginning students in China.
